ARIK GILBERT UPDATE

I'm hearing Arik Gilbert is thus far fulfilling his academic requirements, being determined and driven for a return to the team sooner rather than later.

He may be a late arrival for summer camp coming up, but he has "shown the program everything they wanted to see", according to a source within the Baton Rouge academic community.

Arik hasn't been paying lip service when it comes to getting his grades up, spending long hours taking the necessary online classes.

I've been told he's approaching it with a "learning curiosity" more than the overwhelming burden of raising a sub 2.0 GPA.

Considering the approval of most transfers, including the smooth nature of both Mike Jones Jr and Major Burns' moves from the ACC & SEC, Tiger fans should expect to see Arik Gilbert wearing purple and gold by late July early August at the latest....if all of his good work continues.

If not, then Arik wasn't able to pass the final hurdles, which are just around the corner....however, Gilbert has been mentally gearing up for his Baton Rouge return, and after receiving plenty of support from his "former" teammates & coaches, he's pushing to renew their bond.

This is an offense and a program Gilbert is desperate to be a part of....and his hard work has proven that thus far.
