Following his official visit at LSU this past weekend, in-demand Louisiana native DL Gabriel Reliford decommitted from Texas A&M, and now moves his newest commitment date to this upcoming Saturday at 2pm central.

With what we've been told about how well JR Belton, Sherman Wilson, and friends like Lance Heard (among others) recruited Reliford, combined alongside his need for a quick commitment time frame due to his early enrollment, it's quite obvious LSU are about to snag a much-needed 2024 DL prospect, completing the flip from A&M.

Reliford is a stunning, versatile talent that went under LSU's recruiting radar throughout Ed Orgeron's final cycle in charge, as well as Brian Kelly's first recruiting calendar.

During his breakout sophomore season in fall 2021, the Evangel Christian defensive lineman posted 100 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks & 3 forced fumbles, before following up with another 100 tackle season during 2022, recording 129 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and another trio of fumbles; This past fall, Gabe continued his dominance statistically, posting 122 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, improved with 9 sacks, yet again 3 forced fumbles and 1 recovery.

Just for context....Gabe is a defensive end posting 100 tackle seasons in each of the last 3 years, posting 27, 28 and 29 TFLs over the past triumvirate of campaigns, while also maintaining a strong sack record (30 total, good for a double digit yearly average).....forget star ratings, the Shreveport native is a dawwwg.

LSU desperately needed defensive line help, and now they will be gaining the commitment of a player who's capable of making major roster waves early upon arrival in Baton Rouge.
