The Tigers' 2019 Joe Moore Award-winning Offensive Line Coach James Cregg has been hustlin', hustlin', hustlin' in all corners of the country, looking high and low for the best linemen with the biggest hearts, and none of these candidates stand out further than Garrett Dellinger, the Clarkston High left tackle...yup, that's right...LSU are geauxing up north into the depths of Harbaugh country in a bold attempt to sign a truly singular O-line talisman.

Garrett Dellinger isn't just ridiculously underrated by Geaux247, ranked as the 12th overall tackle in Division I and the 5th rated OT in Michigan, both vastly under-selling his bruising physique and intrinsic, intrepid footballing IQ, he's been under-recruited, but thanks to Cregg's devoted attention to this kid, as well as our own coverage of the Clarkston left tackle on the Mark Rogers show months ago, we feel LSU and Dellinger are close to the finish line.

Garrett belongs in Baton Rouge, not merely for his stature and physical wherewithal, it's his perfected understanding of the screen game, the Clarkston native's stalk blocking action providing riveting film study sessions, as well as uniquely preparing him for the exact same positional formations LSU's offense utilizes heavily.

Despite being a tempest of tyranny in his shielding of quarterbacks, Garrett is adept at pulling, destroying and moving with bulldozing brutality and deceptive pace...aka the same rare attributes Super Bowl and National Championship-winner James Cregg knows how to develop...just look at his recent track record and the debate, no...the recruitment stops in Baton Rouge:

Lloyd Cushenberry from no star center castaway into legitimate NFL status, Damien Lewis transferring from junior college, planting himself at right guard as yet another Burrow shield before becoming Pete Carroll's must-have piece to protect Russel Wilson; even back-up Adrian McGee was later signed by the Saints (...and they never take LSU players!!!); Shaadiq Charles was also taken by the Skins after enduring a suspension-altered season in which he showed up on the biggest stages, Cregg manifesting the heart and intensity from Shaadiq as if his life depended on it...Charles' NFL future definitely depended on his improved performances ....and Shaadiq arrived, no small part due to Cregg.

Cregg's resume doesn't stop at the doorstep of LSU's 2018-20 Joe Burrow and Co juggernaut, this includes a successful stint at USC developing NFL stars like Matt Kalil or Xavier Grimble, winning a Super Bowl with the Broncos as their offensive line fended off the legendary, statistically historic Carolina Panthers defense and much much more...James Cregg is a monolith.

Tomorrow, Garrett Dellinger makes a choice for his future, for his NFL pursuit...and for those aims, there can be only one place: LSU, Home of Champions.

At 6'5 280, Dellinger is already a syndicate of agony, just imagine what'll occur when Tommy Moffitt and Dellinger work together, figuring out how Garrett wants to develop his body for the next level.

Just imagine the group he'll be surrounded by...the O-line room in which he'll be looked upon as a leader: Marcus Dumervil, Marlon Martinez, two teammates from St. Thomas Aquainas who Cregg called "the hardest working freshmen he's ever seen", Ed Ingram could stay for a senior jaunt at left guard, centers Chasen Hines, Charlie Turner, Joseph Evans are all extremely viable core options, Kardell Thomas and fellow Michigan man Anthony Bradford battle at right guard, both Herculean somersaults in the making, history for the taking for all of these young stunners....

Will Garrett Dellinger dare to make history?

We know so...he's ready to make history next in a long line of dominant LSU offensive linemen who've found themselves playing for 10+ years in the NFL...and by the way, Garrett, can you bring your buddy Rocco, too?
