LSU ODYSSEY SUBSCRIBER UPDATES

-I was always worried about the prospects of WR Deion Smith transferring, to the point I sent one of Deion's close confidants a message asking "what could happen?".

Two days ago, they said "it's very possible. Can't kid around with his future. We'll see who they hire."

Now, I have a few vague reports, sources who are unsure on the finality, but know one thing: Deion Smith is unhappy with the current environment to the level that he's considering leaving.

Will the freshman superstar be prized away by Georgia, Alabama, or even Kiffin's Ole Miss, Deion's home state school?

As that one source said, "It's very possible", not only from the obvious inner-squad competition talks I've had with Shay Hodge, openly discussing the fact that there were so many talents, a couple were likely going to transfer.

- Freshman DE Landon Jackson had season ending ACL surgery two weeks ago after seeing little, if any, action this season.

He entered campus hobbled by a broken ankle from his senior year, but now after careful deliberation, he has undergone a surgery to repair the ACL he tore back during his days at Pleasant Grove.

This is not a new tear.

I have spoken to Landon, he revealed this to me directly, he seems to be recovering okay and my thoughts and prayers are with him quite frequently, because this kid deserves to be out there. He's one of the most productive DL I've seen at the high school level over the past 15 years.

Keep him in yours!
