-QB Jayden Daniels made a few scrambles which grabbed some yards, but no big plays or showcases of explosiveness, really. But what I liked to see? Daniels rolling out of the pocket and letting a rocket out of his right arm toward the sidelines, caught by a diving Malik Nabers.....#8 pulling off a Cris Carter-esque catch with tight coverage, however Daniels' pass was strong.

-While in our last piece we discussed the rave reviews for QB Myles Brennan being a little deceitful, I must say....that trend is continuing:

Yes, Myles tossed a brilliant touchdown (a little airborne too, though) & nailed tight window throws over the middle, but he also threw some poor passes, showing the same timidness when stepping into (or even away from) pressure inside the pocket.

Of course he's going to look great hurling deep balls when he's protected for lengths of time, as we've seen.

-QB Garrett Nussmeier made some strong laser throws as well and i really like how consistent his arm is when compared to the other two "veteran" QBs (Daniels & Brennan).

-QB Walker Howard is dealing the ball with beauty and velocity, making strong tight window throws look easy, while he's also moving well on the run, seeming to have fought off his leg injury from his senior year.

Although you'll hear a narrative from LSU's mainstream media about "Kelly and Sloan getting after Walker", it's only because they see the huge potential in Howard and want him to develop as quickly as possible. No doubt Brian Kelly will want Walker to start as a sophomore in the least, while freshman reps aren't out of the question, either.

-This offense is going to run a lot of screens and quick action plays, THANK GOD, and so Mike Denbrock & Brian Kelly will pick the quarterback who throws those routes the best while offering their team the most options for victory.....that makes me feel this QB Competition is a long way from over...don't listen to anyone who dubs Myles as "QB1" this early.

-LSU's starting OL is looking to feature Marcus Dumervil this season, big #74 getting plenty of playing time and looking extremely fit. He looks ready to go this season at right tackle, even trumping Cam Wire at that spot......who seems to have also lost his starting left tackle spot to freshman Will Campbell....quite an incredible fall from grace, if that happens....

-Will Campbell seems to be Brian Kelly's fortified starting left tackle....with Brad Davis favoring the former Neville 5 star over a few options, although one of LSU's best linemen, LT/RT Garrett Dellinger, is more than capable of being a standout yet again at either tackle job....a highly likely starter when he recovers from his shoulder operation.

-Mekhi Garner and Damarius McGhee received the bulk of the reps at cornerback due to the team's injuries, though Ralph Walker (#27, walk-on) nearly had a pick six at one point and has shown himself to be a solid cover guy, this is Spring ball.....LSU absolutely need cornerback help now or they're in trouble for 2022.

-OG Marlon Martinez is still hurt but was participating in non contact stuff. He is one of a group of LSU players who are wounded but will return in summer, Jarrick Bernard-Converse, Kayshon Boutte, John Emery Jr, Corey Kiner, Thomas Perry and Major Burns.

-OG Kardell Thomas is having a good Spring, not great, but good, solid, heading in the right direction. Will I call him a sealed and delivered starter right now? No. Will I say that he is knocking on the door? No. He's about to kick it down.

-OG Xavier Hill was at one point practicing with the 1s, now firmly on the 2s, though he's continued to hold his own in practices. He was never embarrassed or put on his ass, which has happened to many OL this off-season due to our hellfire defensive line.

-It's great to see Jack Bech back fully healthy, running routes at full speed and catching everything in sight. He had a little muscle tweak in his back, but now that has healed and he is looking fantastic out there!

-here's a moment where Jack Bech and Matthew Langlois are grappling in a play over the middle, Jack with the catch and Langlois was able to take Jack to the ground.

-RBs Josh Williams, Tre Bradford and Armoni Goodwin all had great runs in the absence of Corey Kiner & John Emery Jr.

Of course, the defense aren't fully tackling, but we're talking good run designs where nobody was there to stop Tre Bradford, #26 blazing miles away. Armoni Goodwin has a lot of cut & thrust to his rushing style

-As CB/S Jordan Toles told us, he's suffering from a sprained ankle as well, learning a new position at cornerback after his first 2 seasons at safety.

-Frank Wilson's son, McNeese St transfer CB Quad Wilson, made a nice interception yesterday with a great jump on a pass. He may have returned the play for a touchdown, though it's hard to tell if the play was blown dead or not.
