RAESJON DAVIS UPDATES: HIS TOP 3???

RAESJON DAVIS

- He said to Trojan Sports Rivals, "I'm just waiting for the day at this point, I kinda know where I'm going to go so...2 days ago I was talking it over with my parents and just keep going over it in my head and picturing myself..."

- The biggest key to his decision?

"I knew I could play here and start wherever I want..."

-About USC's growth:

"Guys want to win, they're not just coming to go to the NFL. They're doing great bringing in in-state talent...last year I don't think they got anyone..."

- "It came down to three: Oregon, Ohio State then USC," Raesjon says in the interview.

- His father Rashad appeared on the R.J Young YouTube channel (which we'd recommend to anyone, R.J is amazing) and talked a lot about the family's love for LSU, Raesjon's concerns over the previous uncertainty surrounding the coaching staff; he also made sure to headline that "all 5 options" are still on the table. Here's our own interview with Rashad back in the summer ....that interview contains a few clues and foreshadowing that make a lot of sense now...

So.... for Raesjon, LSU has to be out of it.

Not only did Orgeron's staff rescind his scholarship offer (for not signing early), now it appears they're flipping the script and want Raesjon. The Tigers have come back into his direct messages (via LBs GA Alec Osborne), hoping or his commitment still;

Now, we sense Davis has moved on from the Tigers for good, proclaiming to Trojan Sports Rivals:

"it came down to 3 schools, Oregon, Ohio State then USC" with not even a mention of LSU.

If Raesjon Davis were to STILL sign on as a Tiger, it would be a shocking move.

SO....IF NOT LSU....THEN WHERE?

Well, I don't think we can proclaim USC to be the only contender here....

I feel USC & Ohio State are neck and neck...but could the Buckeyes be the team to beat here?

Raesjon made a big time connection with the players at Ohio State, especially those from the sophomore class and some freshman early enrollees.

It was a smart gameplan by Head Coach Ryan Day's staff: Don't bury Raesjon with coach's speak, empty promises, touting the facilities etc, just let him get to know the kids on your roster and see what happens.

Well, according to his father Rashad, Raesjon "had a ball" and really found the experience in Columbus to be special. Rashad Davis followed up by saying "I would love if Raesjon played alongside kids like that....I wanna thank their parents...they're such high character kids."

So sure, USC will always be there...but Raesjon strikes me as someone who wants to travel away from home for his collegiate experience...

I could be wrong....trying to predict the decision making of anyone, let alone teenagers with the world at their fingertips, isn't always an exact science.

That's why we use the data, sources and connections we have cultivated over the past few years to make an educated guess...

Only missing three total picks from Early Signing Day (missed on Koht & Earle flips, plus Tristan Leigh's secret shuffle) we've had a damn good year concerning our 2021 predictions...after all, we've been on the cutting edge of various scenarios: Sage Ryan's high profile Bama spurning (while 247, Rivals and every recruiting service followed Saban over the cliff), Garrett Dellinger & Landon Jackson's commitments, early enrollee powerhouse Derrick Davis Jr evading Clemson's clutches while so many Tigers fans seemed ready to throw in the towel on his recruitment...we'll see where we finish with our final selections...

Once Raesjon decommitted, he joined Brian Thomas or Tristan Leigh as the three hardest commitments to predict of the class...what will geaux down?

Who knows...I won't be surprised by anything at this point....I just want the kid to go somewhere he'll be happy and have a good time.

ODDS: 55 / 45 OHIO STATE OVER USC

Yes...it's been a wild ride concerning Raesjon's movements, but we're delivering subscribers the most accurate, up to date info...these are fluid situations before they're settled. Sometimes things can go back and forth.
