-According to LSUOdyssey.com, UGA's WR Coach Cortez Hankton Jr will be announced in the next 24-48 hours by LSU officially.

Here's our write-up on Hankton Jr's background and credentials....which of course now include a National Championship over Saban's Alabama....a game where Hankton Jr's subtle coaching on the outside helped take down the Tide.

UGA QB Stetson Bennett IV was far from perfect, however he completed 17/26 passes to 9 different receivers, hitting 6 for a gain of 10+ yards. Bolstered by injury-hit George Pickens' 52 yard long reception, an early statement of intent, Brock Bowers' 5 star versatility & pedigree, as well as Adonai Mitchell's G.O.A.T-contending 40 yard TD catch, UGA picked apart Alabama's two starting cornerbacks, Kyree Jackson and former 2021 Tigers' target Koolaid McKinstry.

Hankton Jr will likely take on the added role of passing game coordinator, a title previously held by DJ Mangas in 2021 and Scott Linehan during 2020; of course, Joe Brady was LSU's last successful passing game coordinator.

This is a story we've been on for weeks, unleashing our information on Cortez over the past month on this site before confirming with our report 6 days ago.

While the New Orleans native has been criticized in many circles among the Georgia fanbase, we all witnessed how those fans treated Stetson Bennett....only minutes before delivering the program's most historic, universally-fabled and improbable National Championship....the school's first since 1980.....

-I'm told Arkansas' transfer portal CB, Greg Brooks Jr, has informed LSU he will be joining their roster. Brooks Jr started 30 games (33 appearances) over the past 3 seasons at Arkansas and is another senior DB from the Razorbacks to join the Tigers.

Read up on Brooks here.

-There is a major push for LSU to grab USC's Michael Trigg, a former target for the Tigers when he was first recruited out of Seffner High, Florida. Trigg hauled in 7 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown during his freshman year at USC, the 6'4 245 pound colossus appearing throughout 7 games.

At Seffner High, Trigg was one of the most incredible athletic specimen of the entire 2021 class: playing tight end, defensive end and quarterback, Trigg hauled in 82 passes for 1,232 yards (15 per catch) resulting in 16 TDs; At QB, Trigg ran for 196 yards on 56 carries (3.5 average) adding 5 TDs, while completing 24-of-38 passes (63.2% completion rate) for 242 yards and 2 TDs; On defense, Trigg wrapped up 83 tackles, 24.5 TFLs, 11 sacks, 1 INT returned 94 yards for a TD, 2 recovered fumbles, 2 forced fumbles, and he also blocked a punt and field goal.

From what I'm hearing, LSU are going after Trigg badly, making every NIL-instigating sprint they can in their pursuit, however.....I'm told that if Caleb Williams joins Lincoln Riley's USC, with Trigg's father telling the media that "his son wants to be a high volume pass-catcher", then Trigg would lean towards pulling his name out of the portal.

Let's not forget, if his goal is to be the #1 guy at his school, LSU may not be the ideal place: Jack Bech is a proven starter and an immediate positional competitor for starting reps against any tight end on roster.

From all the information, all the evidence, knowing the people involved (and their motivations), I believe Trigg would opt to stay at USC with an elite, soon-to-be NFL-ready QB, a proven play-caller, and far fewer receivers / TEs in his way for targets (Boutte, Bech, Nabers, Thomas Jr, Ibieta etc).

(Thanks to my USC peeps!!)

-LSU's former 2019 linebacker Donte Starks looks to be returning to the program, I am told this by a very reliable source at the top of the Odyssey Source Food Chain:

"LSU's new staff were basically laughing at Orgeron's"...."laughing at how Starks was dismissed...how they let him get away...."; about how his arrest for a gun was twisted badly by the local Louisiana media as a "guns and drugs / gang association story".

"That kid never wanted to do anything except win another championship for LSU..."

Once rated as the 6th overall talent out of Louisiana's rich 2019 class, John Ehret High's former brilliant linebacker joined the Tigers for their championship season, playing some snaps on special teams and a rare look on 3rd string defense, though failing to register a statistic.

Back in 2018-2019, Starks was viciously pursued by Clemson, Auburn, Florida and Arkansas, all hoping to prize his talents out of Louisiana; instead, he chose LSU......will Brian Kelly's staff now return the favor, choosing Starks once again:

In the fall of 2018, the last season Starks played a full campaign of football, the linebacker delivered 129 tackles, 17 TFLs and 7.5 sacks as a senior at John Ehret High, becoming an Under Armour All-American and competing during the nationally televised exhibition showcase.

-LSU's newest target, Tulane's mammoth 6'3 305 DT Jeffrey Jackson, enjoyed his visit at LSU yesterday, posing for videos & photos wearing the purple & gold, all while looking right at home.

Everything was positive coming out of this meeting & all indications are Jackson will be dressed out in purple & gold for Week 1 inside the Superdome vs Florida State (on Sunday September 4th).

The Tigers are in need of a few more interior defensive tackles following the exits of senior DTs Neil Farrell Jr and Glen Logan.....though the program did receive a boost from a random return!

-News broken by Julie Boudwin of Tigerdetails.com: Joe Evans is abandoning his music career and taking his talents back to LSU, where he started the first 4 games of LSU's 2021 regular season.

Evans was one of Ed Orgeron's favorite defensive linemen, with the former Head Coach constantly admiring Evans' selflessness, dedication and utmost frontal violence along the LSU front.

Amassing 8 tackles and 2 TFL, before deciding to geaux "8 Mile" on LSU's ass, Joe has now returned as the prodigal son....and despite some awkwardness at first, the 2019 National Championship veteran has been welcomed with open arms, looking forward to 2022 becoming his most productive campaign.

-Don't think it's not a draw:

While they've accomplished a lot at Arkansas, guys like Brooks Jr and Joe Foucha are Louisiana Boot Boys who were enticed not only by the chance to come home, opening their final season inside the Superdome in front of family, but for an extended run as LSU Tigers.....

HOME & FAMILIAL PROXIMITY in 2022 will become quite the magnetic transfer draw....right under our noses most of the time.
