THE FUTURE OF JOHN EMERY JR

Talking to John Emery Sr, distinguished father of LSU's explosive 5 star running back, I couldn't help but float a few questions about his son's future as a Tiger.

Many have speculated about whether he'll be academically eligible for the Texas Bowl, if he'd even play in Houston if available, or the rumors of John potentially transferring from LSU, but I can tell you we have some clarity on where LSU's dynamic running back stand.

Despite missing out on an entire season due to a clerical error missing a cut off date, a situation which became high profile national news, cast John's name all over the media in a negative light.

Today, LSU Odyssey's only staff member, myself, spoke with John Emery Sr about his son's future. While there was a lot more depth to the conversation, including more tidbits we can release later, these were the chunks I've been allowed to show:

WILL JOHN EMERY JR TRANSFER?

"....As of right now, Jr is not going anywhere we just hoping some seasoned lineman stay."

WHAT ABOUT THE BOWL GAME?

"He stayed in shape, he's hungry and ready."

WHERE'S HIS ELIGIBILITY AT?

"I think he will be eligible for the bowl, just not sure if he will play or not. Don't have full confirmation on the eligibility part..."
