-Posting on his Twitter that he has a "big announcement coming soon", IMG's 5 star safety Kamari Wilson has put the entire college football world on alert:
- While I've heard a lot of great things about LSU's pursuit of Kamari Wilson, the 2022 IMG 5 star safety, LSU Odyssey have heard even more about how great UGA's defensive "analyst" Will Muschamp has been going after the young safety, clearly "zeroing in" and making him a #1 priority from the beginning.
- Using LSU's high profile snag of (5 star, #2 ranked) safety Jacoby Mathews against the Tigers, Muschamp has argued Kamari would have far more playing time at Georgia than anywhere else....and judging by the number of recent transfers and decommitments from the Bulldogs, Muschamp is likely telling the truth.
Unlike LSU, who are stacked at safety when combining 2021 and 2022's classes, Georgia are desperate for secondary help.....it makes Muschamp's case against LSU far tighter when all the former Florida head coach has to do is point at the projected LSU roster sheet for 2022 (Jay Ward, Sage Ryan, Jordan Toles, Pig Cage, Derrick Davis Jr, Matthew Langlois, Zaven Fountain, Jacoby Mathews.....and the 7th option on our list is still a five star).
-Though Kamari has always been one of my favorite players of the 2022 class (next to Jake Johnson, Kendrick Law, Shazz Preston & Harold Perkins), and remains a stunning footballing specimen who I feel would fit perfectly at LSU, the evidence is starting to make me feel perhaps he's really off to Georgia.
He last uploaded a Top 6 list, so his big announcement could be an anti-climatic Top 3 of LSU, UGA and Texas A&M.....and though it's still extremely early in the process, if he were to commit, judging from our sources, it would have to be to join Muschamp, Smart & Glenn Schumann's defensive structure in Athens.
