Bryce's recruiting journey has been a lot like that of safety Derrick Davis:
We were high on the Ocala, Florida man all summer, seeing Langston as a huge necessity for the Tigers given our new 4-3 system.
It was heating up big time over the late spring and early summer, then, things cooled once he'd announced the final two were his home state Florida Gators or the LSU Tigers.
Due to the Tigers already possessing a stable of illustrious defensive ends with Saivion Jones, Landon Jackson, Keanu Koht and Zavier Carter (potentially joined by #1 overall 2021 player & DE Korey Foreman), we feel Langston wants to join the Tigers and make a true name for himself, battling for a spot against the best in the business.
There's also the belief that Zavier Carter may move to OLB potentially, opening another slot on the line...although that isn't sealed in stone:
One thing to remember, the 4-3 scheme will need a vast amount of DEs to continue that high octane attack-minded pass rush for 60 minutes every Saturday....
To accomplish that task, Orgeron & National Championship / Super Bowl-winning D-Line Coach Bill Johnson have been ambitious with their pursuit of as many superior pass-rushers as can be found from the 2021 class....and there's a reason they never broke off contact with Bryce...there's a reason LSU actually pushed the pedal down hardest when the dead period came knocking....there's a reason Langston's fluid situation has now hit a purple and gold plateau:
For one thing, if Orgeron recruits you....he won't stop until it's truly over.
Another thing?
After #6 Florida grew cocky and took LSU for granted at their rock bottom, Orgeron's team cut the Gators' throats and stole their chance at a National Championship while Dan Mullen's side chucked shoes which cost them the game, screamed and berated each other on the sidelines, and perpetually collapsed before our very eyes....and you know Bryce Langston was watching...wondering...thinking....
