We usually don't put too much stock in these preseason lists, to the point you will rarely see us acknowledge or write an article about a list....which is what you see 90% of generated content become nowadays....a regurgitation of a list of a list of a list...
But in 2023's All-SEC Preseason list, something notable occurred: First, LSU dominated the list, with 11 Tigers featured, 6 among the first team list alone. And second, I am struggling to find proof if there's ever been an LSU quarterback named on an All-SEC Preseason poll.
As meaningless as a preseason list really is, it's about the prestige, the rarity for this many LSU Tigers being recognized at once, and the abundant respect college football's media & analytical apparatus has for anything LSU at the present moment.
LSU sells....big time...and with the true CEO Scott Woodward always wanted to run his football program in tow, Head Coach Brian Kelly is making all the right moves, becoming a Saban usurper in the making.
Once everyone witnessed the Tigers' stunning two point conversion win over Alabama, most, and at this point, if not all serious SEC analysts fell hard for the spell of Brian Kelly and his purple and gold program.
And judging by their premature acknowledgement of LSU's proven stalwarts, as well as their bending of the knee throughout SEC Media Days, all while LSU is still yet to win an actual championship under Brian Kelly, when all of these usually pro-Alabama institutions of annoyance are cashing in on LSU, then 2023 must be the Year of the Tiger:
1ST TEAM ALL-SEC
JAYDEN DANIELS- QB
MEKHI WINGO- DT
MALIK NABERS- WR
HAROLD PERKINS- LB
MAASON SMITH- DT
WILL CAMPBELL- LT
2ND TEAM ALL-SEC
MASON TAYLOR- TE
SLADE ROY- LS
NATHAN DIBERT- PK
3RD TEAM ALL-SEC
EMERY JONES JR- RT
MAJOR BURNS- SAFETY

I know I have more information about LSU personnel than other SEC teams, but I don’t think there are many tackles better than Emory. You could easily say he is almost as dominant as Will. He will show it, and ultimately the NFL will recognize it.
