Meanwhile, LSU is far from the only school dabbling in this supposed one time signing of former NFL players....just the only one everyone's afraid of...

When Ross Dellinger reported that almost every single member school of the SEC discussed "harsh penalties" against LSU "up to and including expulsion" from the conference, right as Alabama basketball played Charles Bediako for 5 games after he'd been a pro for almost 3 years previously, Texas sign themselves their own former NFL UDFA (undrafted free agent), and Mizzou Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz is on record saying the whole thing is a "clown show" before quickly adding that he will also pursue former NFL players if the "rules allow him to.....or the scandalous manner in which Ole Miss grabbed a 6th year of eligibility for Trinidad Chambliss right outta the sky....

When it comes to LSU's current place in the SEC, the Tigers are surrounded by a den of thieves....a list of hypocrites long and wide. Lane Kiffin's LSU Tigers are now the most targeted and most feared among the SEC's "slap you on the ass and stab you in the back" ethos, while being the most scrutinized, hotly debated and legislated college football team in America.

But now Kirby Smart, Steve Sarkisian, Eli Drinkwitz, etc, every SEC Head Coach understands the pathway is open for a new juggernaut....a new dynasty.

Like Saban understood, back then as surely as he does now, LSU is the perfect place to build it, and with how the SEC dynamics are playing out (Austin becoming a techocracy for cannabalistic wealthy elites, Oxford standing as the meth'd out frat boy capital of the country, Florida existing as a genocide-loving, face-eating country all to itself, etc), Baton Rouge and LSU may now be the only place where a post-NIL / transfer portal dynasty could be ignited.......no wonder Lane Kiffin and Verge Ausberry have everyone's panties in a bunch.

You can smell their fear like a rotten stench of deathporn emanating from Birmingham all the way to Atlanta, but specifically centered around Oxford & Austin....

So....the question is:

If other SEC opponents are ready to boycott games against LSU, if SEC commissioner Greg Sankey is going to penalize and publicly attack LSU while allowing Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss (among others) to break the exact same rules, then....does LSU really need the SEC?

I get it...we love the history of the conference, but moreso the history & future of football in the south....but hasn't that tradition and vibe already been set aside for emo rap hype videos and gay A.I country intros, $3 million dollar backup quarterbacks, and the $2 million 3rd string WR who bangs the Head Coach's daughter....

....shit is getting weird in the SEC, and LSU is a big enough brand to go independent, as well as survive and even thrive in that realm.

I actually have a source in the program telling me "LSU possess the juice and pull" to grab their own supernova TV deal with money that would "make Notre Dame's NBC deal look like chump change...".

The SEC forgets what LSU has done for them: aside from Saban's Alabama, LSU have the 2nd most championships alongside Florida, Skip Bertman's outrageous, unparalleled impact on SEC & college baseball as a whole, Joe Burrow, Shaq, 2019 LSU, Billy Cannon, Tyrann Mathieu, Glenn Dorsey, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Jacob Hester, Brian "Fear the Beard" Wilson, Coach O, Jayden Daniels, Ben McDonald, T-Bob Hebert, Malik Nabers, Angel Reese....the names, the stars, the legends, the personalities, the characters....the winners....

....without LSU, the SEC would become a stale, less entertaining, less competitive, and farcical product.

I don't think any of this will get so out of control that LSU would ever contemplate leaving the conference, neither do I see Sankey allowing member schools to force his hand and penalize LSU more than would be justified, however, LSU need to start asking themselves the question: "could we do it??? More importantly, should we leave the SEC and go independent???"
