As he practiced through Spring Camp back in April, LSU sophomore running back Harlem Berry competed for the starting job on a daily basis vs stiff competition....and the results were solid:

Berry doesn't just look the part, his explosive, violent bursts of pace, low center of gravity physicality, frenetic agility, and dual threat capabilities make him a potential monster in a Lane Kiffin offense.

Harlem Berry battled & cobbled together an impressive freshman campaign when utilized, breaking off 491 yards on 101 carries (367 after contact), forcing 17 missed tackles, and scoring 2 rushing TDs, he continued to exhibit his usual high levels of play during Spring Camp, alternating between the first three units.

The former 5 star is also becoming a more physical presence over the offseason, packing on 13+ pounds in winter workouts, and seeming to follow right where he left off last fall....

....and if we remember, Harlem Berry was playing in perhaps the worst ever LSU offense, running behind the worst ever LSU offensive line, and was only a freshman.

This is a player who still has much to give in purple and gold, and while he fought against transfer temptation and tampering by Ole Miss in December & January, he chose to stay at LSU and compete...a move against the grain in modern day college football....a show of loyalty that also tells me Harlem Berry is blessed with the right minerals to succeed at the highest level.

....he is willing to fight, scrap and compete for every snap, something that can only aid his development...but Berry must also be a factor on the field to make it all pay off....he needs reps, like any player, to activate his ultimate qualities.

One thing to keep an eye on:

Berry wasn't blameless either during LSU's awful 2025 campaign, fumbling 3 times....a horrific habit he repeated again when he coughed up a couple times throughout Spring camp...a massive deficiency in his game he must work on.

If Berry can leapfrog up the roster, or at least remain a key component of Kevin Smith's running backs rotation, stay healthy, and stop coughing up the ball, this young Tiger could be electrifying, even transcendent lining up for a playcaller like Charlie Weis Jr and the elite rushing history of Lane Kiffin's offensive resume.
