Poised to take the bulk of 1st team reps during Spring practices (due to an injured Sam Leavitt), California-born signal caller Husan Longstreet looks to be a solid option in the present and a long-term project for the future.

Committing to the Tigers after transferring from USC, like many of these new Tigers, Longstreet was recruited by Kiffin for years, and now the top 10 ranked portal quarterback has bought in to Kiffin & Weis' long term plan for his development.

While also holding 2-3 years of eligibility....enough breathing room for Longstreet to smooth over any rust after being Sam Leavitt's backup in 2026...there is every possibility Longstreet will receive a multi-year stint as LSU's starting quarterback, theoretically in 2027 and 2028.

As a red shirt freshman, only 4 appearances at the college level thus far, Longstreet is certainly raw, but his ceiling is exceedingly high, possessed by striking arm talent, elite vision, and a serene calm under fire that will be intriguing to watch develop over the next few seasons.

Ahhh....this is why it's great to have multiple elite quarterbacks on roster...
