Following the 16 football player lawsuit victory (regarding 2022 class eligibility), LSUOdyssey sources CONFIRM #LSU Football IS in contact with current Tampa Bay Buccaneers DE Jack Pyburn for a potential blockbuster return to the Tigers...a move that would place us all once again in completely uncharted waters for college football.

"There's a lot at play here...." a source told LSUOdyssey.

The plan is: IF Pyburn makes the Bucs' 53 man roster, obviously he would stay put on contract in the NFL.

However, if he is cut or released, he is almost certainly set for a return to LSU.

The source also went out of his way to point out the fact this lawsuit was filed in the state of Louisiana, not the Pyburns' home state of Florida...

Pyburn racked up 2 sacks this past weekend for the Buccaneers during his NFL preseason debut; In 2025, Pyburn collected 52 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks (actually involved in 4 total, credited with 0.5 sack each time) in his single season at LSU.

Jack is one of 16 football players now on NFL rosters (who all could be cut by September 1st) who filed a lawsuit vs the NCAA arguing for another season of eligibility....

A trio of former Ole Miss starters under Lane Kiffin, Dae'Quan Wright, Zxavian Harris and Wydett Williams, are also involved in this lawsuit & now eligible, and LSUOdyssey will monitor their situations.

August 30th, the deadline for NFL 53 man roster cuts, is just 5 days ahead of LSU's Week 1 game vs Clemson....
