In an incredible development, former Heisman winning QB Jayden Daniels issued a cease and desist letter to LSU concerning all usage of his Name, Image and Likeness following the news of current sophomore cornerback DJ Pickett wearing Daniels' #5.

This appears to be a case of two promises that shouldn't have been made....and judging by the timeline, most likely by former LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly:
1) telling Jayden Daniels his #5 would never be used again.
2) Kelly or his staff at his behest telling DJ Pickett he would wear the #5 upon arrival at LSU....which didn't happen over the course of his freshman year (he wore #3, another number that should arguably be retired) until now, when current LSU Head Coach Lane Kiffin begrudgingly said he would honor "the promise" made by the "former coaching staff"....which indicates a promise made by Brian Kelly, rather than current CBs Coach Corey Raymond.
There's also talk that Daniels feels he isn't getting the "same treatment that Joe Burrow" receives...which is honestly pathetic if that report is true.
What are we doing here???
LSUODYSSEY has reached out to MzRegina Jackson, Jayden's Mother and manager for comments and context about their cease and desist letter, and we will do our best to have that for you.
