Set to Visit LSU on March 13th, the Florida native hasn't received an LSU offer just yet, however his trip to campus & meeting with main recruiter Robert Steeples could change that outcome.
Holding existing offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Missouri, it's only a matter of time before current Florida DBs Coach Corey Raymond circles back to his talent pool inside Palmetto, which is why LSU's early contact & visit with the young 2024 class safety is paramount.
Brian Kelly's recruiting staff are already mining the same territory for prospects, revisiting 7 v 7 connections, and criss-crossing through the Southeastern high school belt...and gems such as Kensley Faustin are beginning to rise, regardless of star ratings or lack thereof.
Kensley told us "LSU is his dream school", proclaiming his love for DBU's legacy. Likening his own game to Grant Delpit's style of play, Faustin backs up the comparison talk with his versatile playmaking inside the box or at the back end.
Check out his sophomore highlights & an exclusive interview with LSU Odyssey below:
KENSLEY: LSU is my dream school. (I've) been watching them since the Patrick Peterson days and watched every DB that came out of LSU and studied them.
LONN: Who are your favorites?
KENSLEY: Grant Delpit. I think I play like him, if you watch my film, you can see I’m not afraid to get in the box and I have great ball skills. I could go from one sideline to another sideline.
LONN: So you love to play like Tyrann Mathieu too?!?! Roam and hunt? Make plays?
KENSLEY: Yeah I love to play like Tyrann Mathieu and yea I'm more of a safety than corner but I also could cover like a corner.
LONN: How is it being recruited by Coach Steeples? I've heard nothing but great things about the man.
KENSLEY: Feels good to be recruited by Coach Steeples. He coached at the highest level, understands the game very well, he loves my playing style and understands that I could play any position in the secondary he asks me to play.
