On one of the craziest nights in college football history, following major upsets suffered by #1 Alabama, #4 Tennessee, #9 Missouri, #10 Michigan, and #11 USC (#8 Miami only surviving due to some last second insanity after a 25 point late 2nd half comeback against Cal), Brian Kelly's 13th ranked LSU Tigers move into the Top 10, alongside next opponents Ole Miss (ranked #8)....giving next Saturday's epic showdown the top 10 billing & night time in Death Valley setting it richly deserves.
Vanderbilt, Arkansas and A&M all pulled off colossal upsets in the SEC, Vandy taking down Kalen DeBoer's top ranked Crimson Tide in brilliant, definitive fashion, while Sam Pittman grabbed a much deserved big time win as Arkansas outlasted, humbled & embarrassed Josh Heupel's #4 Tennessee, while #25 A&M took down the top 10 ranked Missouri Tigers in a stomping so complete, some wondered how Drinkwitz's squad were ranked in the first place, let alone within the top 10.

With every preseason favorite now blemished or down & out, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, Ole Miss, as #2 Ohio State stay undefeated playing absolutely no one at a competitive level, the 2024 CFP National Championship is there for the taking by whichever school can outlast everyone else.
With 1 loss, jettisoned into the top 10 by a slew of upsets ahead of them, LSU will now be in pole position to not only get back to Atlanta for an SEC Championship Game, but seal their CFP destiny if the Tigers can go on a winning run over the next two months.
Facing the toughest, nastiest part of the schedule, this season has just become a hell of a whole lot more interesting....as we expected....I felt no team would finish undefeated, there would be embarrassing losses immediately following crushing statement wins....it's college football, it's 2024, a campaign of madness during the season of the witch.

As always, it all depends on us. We have an offense that can keep us in every one of the SEC games. I am very conflicted about the consistency of the defense. We have a talented but untested player moving to STAR. We have injury and inexperience at corner, and we have weakness at safety. Not to mention depth issues in the interior DL For those reasons, I can’t get on the playoff bandwagon. Sadly, we face another year where this offensive line and QB may be wasted and move on to the NFL. .
