Last time we checked in with 2024 Lafayette Christian Academy DL Melvin Hills III, he wasn't impressed with then-LSU DL Coach Jamar Cain, feeling as though he wasn't a priority.
Since the departure of Cain and the hiring of former South Carolina DL Coach Jimmy Lindsey as his replacement, things have been moving in a far better direction when it concerns LSU's quest to keep the rising 4 star DL in-state.
When talking with Hills III over the weekend, the LCA D-line star let us know he's had contact with both defensive coordinator Matt House and newly hired DL Coach Jimmy Lindsey.
"Coach House wants me to come for a visit," Melvin texted LSUOdyssey.com, "He came (to LCA) during spring wanting me to meet the new D-line coach."
Melvin's LSU visit isn't officially scheduled just yet, as he will vacation in Mexico over the next month; however, it should be this summer.
Next, Melvin revealed all about his relationship with DL Coach Jimmy Lindsey....and Tigers fans will love this news:
"....me and Coach Lindsey had a good bond when he was at South Carolina. He('s) great, it’s always great talking to him," even adding that Coach Lindsey was texting him this weekend.
So, I had to ask Melvin where LSU figure into his process right now, heading into summer visit season:
"A good bit. I’m thinking if ima give them a visit, it’s higher than last time. Tho like 75%."
With an already established relationship on the recruiting trail, DL Coach Jimmy Lindsey has hit the ground running in his quest to keep Hills home and in purple and gold, making the LCA D-lineman a top priority.
