-QB Sam Leavitt announced, via Instagram, that he will be undergoing an expected surgery to remove a screw from his ankle. Coach Kiffin later confirmed Leavitt will be out for the rest of Spring, although he pointed out the operation was a part of the final recovery process for his #1 ranked signal caller.

-Whit Weeks was also missing from any activity on the Ponderosa, absent for the first time all Spring. LSUOdyssey will try to find out what's up with Whit.

-After starting with the 1st team offensive line for the entirety of Spring Camp thus far, former Ole Miss left guard Devin Harper has been usurped by veteran Tiger Bo Bordelon, while Harper operated in the 2nd team offensive front.

1st Team Starting OL (L-R):

SEATON, BORDELON, MOORE, BAH, DAVIS

2nd Team Starting OL (L-R)

MARTINEZ, HARPER, SATTERWHITE, SPRINKLE, STREY

-1st team RG Aliou Bah has stunned and excited LSU's offensive staff, a pair of LSUOdyssey contacts told this author. It surprised me as well that Bah took over that spot and has cemented it in his image thus far...

-Running Back Caden Durham enjoyed a strong outing on Tuesday, with a LSUOdyssey source also telling us Coach Kevin Smith "is impressed" by the way Durham attacked Spring

-Freshman DT Deuce Geralds continues to make plays, batting a pass at the line of scrimmage and penetrating the backfield on a couple of high impact occasions.

He has a motor & a mentality that screams "I AM READY TO PLAY!" loud and clear....

-Another freshman defensive tackle, Rich Anderson continues to receive plenty of plaudits, admiration and interest from coaches, teammates and LSU media, standing out as a towering, monolithic pyramid of pain.

Kiffin was asked about Edna Karr's former superstar during Tuesday's press conference and had a lot to say about his first year DT:

“Phenomenal prospect. This guy’s going to be a great player. It’s just a matter of time to when that happens. I love how physical he is. I love how hard he’s worked early. Again, these guys really are seniors in high school. Over time, we just have changed their enrollment for so many guys to come early. He’s doing a great job. He got a little banged up and played through it Saturday, which was good. We’re really excited about him. Well coached.”

-As LSUOdyssey pointed out in our past practice reports, TE Malachi Thomas keeps pushing Trey'Dez Green for each and every rep, although Kiffin and Weis' offense has already showcased plenty of 12 personnel (formations using 2 tight ends), with Thomas as a more traditional in-line tight end and Trey'Dez Green often moved around the formation or motioned out wide / in the slot.

-Lengthy 6'7 wide receiver Malik Elzy made another sequence of eye catching grabs, making more waves than some other names LSUOdyssey was higher on....right now, "outsider" WRs like Elzy, Roman Mothershed, and red shirt freshman Phillip Wright III are all balling.

-Former Ole Miss WR Winnie Watkins pulled off a breakout practice, navigating explosive gains over the middle, making defenders miss, and taking on more responsibility each practice.

-Dashawn Spears practiced at the STAR position, taking 1 v 1 council by defensive coordinator Blake Baker.

-QB Landen Clark is a thrilling prospect....most likely for the future, if he remains at LSU after 2026. The kid is a smooth operator, now displaying a strong understanding and command of Kiffin & Weis's RPO set up.

-Coach Lane Kiffin lauded his defense under Blake Baker, stating that "if the season began tomorrow, (2026 LSU) would be a defense-first team..."

He also pointed out and explained why his brother Chris Kiffin (Co-DC/LBs) works exclusively with Baker's former position group:

“Chris coaches the linebackers and I like that because it allows Blake to move around and coach everybody. I think that has gone very well.”

Because of that setup, we were able to see Baker coaching up the STAR spot (as we've seen him mainly leading during practices), then the defensive line, the safeties, taking aside a few younger cornerbacks for 1 v 1 coaching (focusing on Aidan Anding), and then oversaw some linebacker work as well.
