MANY HIGH DEFENDER TYLEN SINGLETON: 2024 LSUOdyssey PROFILE & PREDICTION

Though his name used to be overshadowed by 2023 teammate Tackett Curtis, Many High senior defender Tylen Singleton provided much of the bluster and chaos which set Many's defensive onslaught in motion during their 2022 state title run, his big time playmaking supplying plenty of game turning moments.

Being a key part of Many's three consecutive state title game appearances (2-1 record), Singleton was always high on defensive coordinator Matt House's radar, with the former Super Bowl-winner recently visiting Many High once again this past spring to check up on the hybrid defensive playmaker.

Once thought to be a top in-state talent LSU would likely miss out on, Tylen's signature is looking less like a toss up now that LSU are gaining serious momentum heading into summer....and getting Singleton on campus is what it's all about, with a visit scheduled for July (the final visit on a list containing some heavyweights: A&M, TCU, Arkansas and Tennessee).

When you look at the senior hybrid safety's development, as an athlete and concerning his increasing knowledge of the game over his past two seasons, standing out nationally as a propulsive, born & bred, Louisiana-made machine, it's sad it has taken LSU clear until April 14 of this year to get Tylen on campus for his first ever LSU visit.

And after 2 years of LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron's endless standoff vs former Many Headman Jess Curtis, defensive coordinator Matt House has already scheduled two visits from Singleton in what will be a little over just 3 months.

Producing 75 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions (returning 2 for touchdowns), plus one official sack (while Many fell in the title game during his sophomore season), Tylen Singleton rose alongside current USC Trojan LB Tackett Curtis as an elite national defensive prospect.

This past fall as a junior, Many went back to the title game and completed their revenge tour, led by the dominant pairing of Curtis and Singleton once again, the safety becoming integral to their second championship.

Singleton is a blistering talent, who's commitment may take a second to arrive due to his drawn out summer visit schedule & an increasing supply of offers;

However, in the end, I expect Singleton to really consider his options carefully, make LSU really work for him. But once he returns to LSU's campus, expect the Tigers' excellent local recruiting work to continue and for Singleton to be wowed enough by the environment, academic excellence, the development plan by Coach House, and potential for championships to the point he signs.
