TIGERS TALKING: WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE PLAYER INTERVIEWS

- First of all, from QB T.J Finley we learned that Offensive Coordinator Jake Peetz is willing to throw bottles across the room or flip tables to get the team going for practice or scrimmages.

-Finley likes the fact Jake Peetz has worked with "quarterbacks my size before" as he said, posting a big time example: Cam Newton. TJ seemed confident our new offensive wiz can formulate the right system for him, one which highlights his stone cold passing brilliance and pocket presence.

-WR Kayshon Boutte will be deployed not only on the outside or at slot, he'll be placed in the backfield too (thank god!!!! The man can be LSU's Percy Harvin!) and he is a big fan of Peetz "changing the offense".

-Boutte said "big shoutout to them" when talking about D.J Mangas working with the receivers and his comrade Jake Peetz at the helm of the QB room.

-QB Max Johnson said he "felt he knew" the offense last year...this year, he wants to "master it". Max understands this offense is about distribution and taking advantage of our circus-like matchup flex....guys like Boutte, Jenkins, Moore, Palmer, Deion Smith, Jack Bech, Chris Hilton Jr, Brian Thomas Jr, they all bring something specific to the table....just in time for the offensive buffet.

-Max was barraged with questions about the QB relationships within the room, and to break the ice of certain people desperate for inner-squad drama, he joked about "Of course we all wanna go fishing with Myles one day, he's a big fisherman...he's shown me photos of the fish he's caught." He explained how Myles shared his love of hunting with him, though "ATV's aren't for me, but maybe one day."

-Peetz isn't allowing Max to audible play-calls in scrimmages or practices just yet, though he's allowing Johnson to grow into his overall command with altering protections at the line first.

-LB Damone Clark came swingin' straight out of the gates, showering many of his National Championship teammates in praise:

ABOUT JAY WARD:

"I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't think there's nothing that Jay Ward can't do...like, he can do everything. Playing corner, nickel and safety, he's putting it all on film. He's become more of a vocal leader, too."

ABOUT JOE EVANS:

"He trusts the coaches and the technique they're showing him, Joe make plays every day. Even if he get beat, he comes right back."

ABOUT NEIL FARRELL JR:

"You can't overlook Neil, either, cause Neil's a guy that's gonna do what he's gonna do. He's gonna work within the scheme to help everybody, too."

-Damone said something special:

"This is the closest we've ever been....We love to be around each other."

"Me personally, I hang out with Andre Anthony and Neil a lot. I've been hanging with them since...P.Q is my best friend (Patrick Queen) and Jacoby my best friend though they're doing their own thing now, so I just hang out with Andre and Neil a lot..."

-OT Ed Ingram talked about the offense being in its embryonic stages, although still high octane and forward-thinking enough to throw new routes and plays into the mix every day.
