It's been 10 years strong next to Chelsea Lyn Harbert, my fiancee who's been the guiding light of this scribe since...well...since I can remember.
My life seems to have had segments and chapters to it like anyone, and there were many wild escapades, adventures and crazy moments through my adolescence before I met Chelsea ...and yet we were years apart only a few streets away from each other, unknowingly keeping our thickest chapter for later.
Around 2008-2010, the apex of my spirited seeking, I pushed everything to the barriers...beyond the ceiling....as far as the madness could go....through these "chemistry set" years, many things were learned, specifically the meaning of true friendship, the mysteries of humans, how some can manipulate, how even some want to destroy....but there was a point to all of it:
It was all about setting the stage for me to meet my future wife.
During those years I met this beautiful lady, Chelsea. She took the same class as me and I studied her from afar: there was a sultry mystery to her, she knocked me out and caught my intense, fixed attention. Soon after, we began talking very instantly....I even remember feeling a magnetism... her to me as well.
I don't think it was anything other than the cliche, fabled true love...and I'm lucky to have experienced it.
Since then, we've had so many adventures together; we've taken on a ludicrous amount of challenges and overcame every single one of them. We've dealt with problems head on, even if we haven't wanted to...
We haven't been perfect....but we've been happy.
I have no doubt in my mind that'll only continue...
Because you deserve the best, so I'm going to up my game even further than ever before.
I don't have any poetry for this Valentine's Day, just truth:
Chelsea is my everything and more...
Today I just want her to know I love her more than anything else....
I want her to know that as I sat there for the last two nights, trying to come up with some slick, impressive ingenious writing to stun everyone, I settled for direct truth & a statement of my intent...
This is for her to know.
