GARRETT NUSSMEIER WEARING 18 FOR 2025 SEASON

Announced on Sunday morning by LSU, QB Garrett Nussmeier will wear the much cherished & coveted #18 jersey, a Tiger totem of selfless leadership and overcoming the odds, worn by such LSU Legends as Jacob Hester, Tre'davious White, Benny Logan, K'Lavon Chaisson, Christian LaCoutoure, Mekhi Wingo, Josh Williams, and 2003 National Championship-winning QB Matt Mauck among others.

Mauck happens to be the last LSU quarterback to wear #18, and was among the first to call and congratulate Nussmeier via video phone call.

This is the 3rd Nussmeier number change during his Tiger career: starting out at #5 before switching to #13 to accommodate 2022-2023 starter Jayden Daniels, and now, rocking a historic number in LSU lore.
