Needing a strong senior season to cement his NFL Draft stock, as he also became a father a year ago, Jacobian Guillory found himself in a tough spot only 2 weeks into last fall:
Tearing his achilles vs Nicholls State in week 2, dealing with a lot of pressure to recover quickly and retake his starting gig up front, Guillory was up against the wall once again in his football career, not only to protect & bolster his own NFL future, but to provide for his infant son, Jacobian Jr.

Guillory responded by doubling his recovery time, finding himself back on the practice field before Spring camp had even ended....more than shattering expectations or recovery timelines.
Now with another chance at a senior season of epic proportions, hoping to make the splash that injuries and roster battles prevented in years prior, the Baton Rouge native has always been a capable Tiger, but this season, he has yet another opportunity to be remembered as someone much more than "capable" or "solid" or "serviceable".....Jacobian Guillory's skill set, personality, and vast experience indicate he should be iconic at LSU....

The pieces will need to all fall together, and with newly minted DL Coach Kyle Williams at the helm, Guillory will have his best opportunity in 2025 for career elevation....albeit with one caveat.
Everything is aligning for Guillory, expected to log a full campaign of critical snaps up front.....however, his playing time might be limited over the first few weeks as he returns from such a long layoff & competes against much stronger competition throughout fall camp and LSU's long season ahead.
Alongside elite transfer Bernard Gooden (who could form a precise starting partnership with Guillory), young sophomores he encouraged and helped along (Dominick McKinley & Ahmad Breaux), plus Shone Washington, and former Texas Longhorn Sydir Mitchell, this may just be LSU's best defensive tackle room since Tyler Shelvin, Neil Farrell Jr and Breiden Fehoko led the Tigers' 2019 interior.....and Guillory just might be the best of the bunch as well as the main benefactor of LSU's improved competition at DT.
