Waxahachie CB Jaelyn Davis-Robinson has joined the Tigers!!!
The corner became a major target and name for Brian Kelly's staff in the final third of the cycle; however, once Kelly's regime took over from Orgeron's group, JDR became the top corner on the list. Following his visit this past weekend, LSU Odyssey received information that JDR would become a Tiger, which is why our pick had always been for JDR joining the Tigers....ever since he was first offered.
I also talked with Jaelyn about the visit and his impressions were overwhelmingly positive.
While still raw, only starting a single season at corner, Jaelyn possesses special athletic tools which send his name up the list of supreme 2022 talents.
Jaelyn Davis-Robinson is a strong, silky smooth Texas cornerback possessing solid ball skills, innate tackling instincts and elite playmaking prowess all combined with his expert track speed, clocking in a 10.75 second 100 meter dash.
As a senior at Waxahachie, Jaelyn recorded 46 total tackles (36 solo and 7.7 per contest), 6 tackles for loss, 3 passes broken up, 2 sacks, 1 Fumble Recovery next to 1 receiving touchdown.
As a junior, JDR posted 29 stops, 3 passes broken up and an interception.
