JORDAN ROSS

(Edge Tennessee, Junior)

After former Tennessee Volunteer DE Jordan Ross visited LSU's campus throughout the middle of the week, a visit LSUOdyssey reported on, his decision was solidified:

Ross would become a Tiger, signing on the dotted line for the purple and gold, as first reported by On3's Pete Nakos, while LSU media cornerstone Matt Moscona also strongly hinted at Ross committing before his arrival was announced.

Ross was a key early addition to the illustrious 2026 LSU Portal Class, and with #1 edge rushing force Princewill Umanmielen also signing for LSU, while Gabe Reliford returns for another campaign (among others), LSU is developing quite a nice room of proven SEC pass rushing pedigree.

However, his production bests Reliford's, creating an intriguing battle at least at one of the defensive end positions (Reliford appeared in 241 total snaps, 18 total tackles, 0.5 sack and 2 TFLs over 2024 and 2025):

In comparison, Ross achieved 26 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 1 batted pass, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery over 22 appearances with slimmer snap counts (just 249 snaps in 2025 as a sophomore, generating 13 QB pressures). Still, Tennessee edge rusher Jordan Ross proved he can get to the quarterback with his agile, athletic frame and former 5 star status beginning to bear fruit.

As a rarely utilized freshman, Ross also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, showcasing the playmaking abilities within the rotational pass rusher's repertoire.

...however, after 2 seasons and 1 school already, the former 5 star tag means little, and it is now time for Jordan Ross to produce the kind of on-field impact expected of an elite pass rusher at the SEC level.

Due to LSU's complete investment in his commitment, it appears Defensive Coordinator Blake Baker, Edge Rushing Coach Kevin Peoples, Defensive Line Coach Sterling Lucas, as well as Head Coach Lane Kiffin are betting on Ross to succeed in Baton Rouge.

It's not hard to see why...
