Milliseconds after news broke that Lane Kiffin would accept the job at LSU, the man who'd already lived two lifetimes as both the "most in demand" and "most hated", was once again met with a tidal wave of pure online / podcast / talk show haterade of the likes we've never seen before:
You had many head shaking figures, led by Paul Finebaum's "disappointed 1950s high school principal" act, shaking his head with a concerned fluster and bluster that spoke more to an inner fear of Kiffin's ultimate rise rather than any real moral outrage;

The inauthentic media anger was followed by a very real torrential downpour of seriously unhinged Ole Miss fans out for blood:
These Ole Miss fans, who were and still are seething with the fury of a defiled, murderous ex-wife, became an online echo of the Tennessee fans' primitive mattress burning & campus-wrecking Limp Bizkit-isms after Kiffin left in January 2010...an incoherent scream of desperation from the damned...
The Kiffin phenomenon quickly turned into widespread condemnation from many hypocritical voices in and around college football, shameless self promoting savages (who'd surely kill a man for REO Speedwagon tickets) were now scolding Lane Kiffin for taking on a stratospheric $91 million job.

As if it was their right to deny Kiffin and his family "the American Dream"....
As if he was expected to stay for the duration of his head coaching career handcuffed to a sometime contender he dragged to the top of a cannibalistic super conference...
As if this uninhibited fanbase rage & ESPN slopbait felt Kiffin's decision was actually up to them....
The delusion outside of LSU's fortified walls hit algorithm-shattering highs & threat-filled, dark web message board lows as the final week of Kiffinpalooza arrived...
In the final 10 days of a month & a half long saga, many, including this author, felt Kiffin was Baton Rouge-bound, but when the move was announced, even I was shocked by the vitriol and jealous disgust...
But as the hate rained down on LSU and especially Lane Kiffin, even his biggest haters weren't prepared for what was ahead: In just his first month, under the hot lights of LSU facing a major rebuild, Kiffin and his staff pulled off the kind of offseason wins that build championship squads in the NIL era.

Speaking of which, at the same time he spent the cash on the #1 QB, #1 OL, #1 edge rusher, and a near $40 million roster, Kiffin (sometimes personally) and Billy Glasscock were able to upgrade LSU's financial mobilization to a level that could afford to purchase small countries....calling upon major donors in the oil, natural gas & chemical companies within Louisiana and the Gulf, while also aligning the different factions of Baton Rouge's upper financial crust.
This was LSU operating at hyper speed....moving at a pace and a progress many Tiger fans never thought possible since Saban's departure...
Rumors of "there isn't enough money at LSU", or excuses like "too many warring donors and lowdown local political score settling to centralize NIL at LSU" turned out to be complete and utter ancient fiction, stomped into the dust of forefathers in just a month of Kiffin's tenure.

Now, with rising expectations up to the contention class and LSU taking on a College Football Playoff mandate considering the historic signings, alignment & investment, as haters and opportunists hold up magnifying glasses to Coach Kiffin's every move, you can actually physically witness their boiling hatred swirling among the chaos that bristles along the edge of every opposing stadium & every former team he left aggrieved in his wake...waiting for their chance...
.....growing deeper and vaster through the portal of time with every Kiffin Era LSU win, whether that be a transfer or recruiting win, on field success or even a comedic tweet between himself and Livvy Dunne, Lane's very existence, let alone his success, is now evidence of their failure....of their shame....their own missed chance....
Before even a single snap @ Ole Miss in Week 3, we're already talking about a psychological battle between Tigers and Rebels fans playing out...
LSU will enter Week 1 vs Clemson as the most hated team in college football, mostly due to their new Head Coach, and a little to do with what LSU represents to folks who passionately hate us: LSU is a program possessing infinite possibilities for the future as well as endless nostalgia from a rich past....a fact 98% of college football programs simply can't match. LSU is a program that's been there and won that, but can also do it again at any moment, at any time when the right captain steers the ship....
That time looks to be nigh at hand...

I certainly enjoy your live sessions and interviews very much, but I always get a kick out of your written content. Obviously the content is thorough and enlightening, but the real “cherry on top” is the presentation. The analogies, metaphors, hyperbole, and play on words add real entertainment value.
