After hosting former Mississippi State WR and impact return man Zavion Thomas on an unofficial visit this past weekend, the highly sought after transfer portal target is now expected to sign with LSU and become a Tiger, just as we suspected some time ago in this article about the 2023 portal.

Our sources confirm the Louisiana native's visit went extremely well, as the wantaway skill position danger man is already giving the coaching staff a good feeling about what he could accomplish wearing purple and gold.

Returning back home is a major pull for Thomas, especially with LSU selling him on their recent ability to turn Louisiana-born "prodigal sons" into successful Tigers: to name a few, Kelly and his staff brought home Logan Diggs, Greg Brooks Jr, Jarrick Bernard-Converse, and while disappointing across his limited action debut season, WR Aaron Anderson holds all the tools to be another special talent at WRU.

Zavion Thomas is keen to be a Tiger and Hankton is having a field day talking to portal possibilities or recruits about the targets up for grabs next season without Malik Nabers and (possibly) Brian Thomas Jr.

Over 11 games last fall for Miss St, the former John Ehret High standout caught 40 passes from 58 targets for 502 yards & 1 single receiving TD; he put up 224 yards after catch, dropped 3 passes, made 5 contested grabs from 9 total contested targets, hauling in a season-long gain of 35 yards, made 12 defenders miss tackles, earned 25 first downs, fumbled the ball once, and stamped an NFL Rating of 87.0....all pretty lukewarm production within a pisspoor offense on a terrible team....but there's more to the story:

Zavion shined more as a returner, scoring a punt return and a kick return, registering 365 punt return & 297 kick return yards (662 total return yards from 39 total return attempts at 16.97 per return).

Still raw, Thomas could be boom or bust, although I hear he's "in a new mindset", specifically after "leaving Miss St and watching offers come in" but also "watching LSU's 2023 offense got him excited"....just like Aaron Anderson, the Louisiana-born Thomas could experience a few growing pains, but the skill set to do something special as a returner, or contributing receiver are there for all to see.

Zavion Thomas was a 4 star-rated prospect out of Marrero's John Ehret High and this is his second trip into the portal, entering back in December of 2022 before deciding to stay at Miss State.

BONUS INFO: LSU's WRs Coach is also focusing on North Texas transfer Ja'Mori Maclin, hoping to gain as much help as possible through the portal to replace not one, but possibly two 1,000 yard receivers.
