Jake Johnson could do no wrong tonight:
After a few selfless weeks opening up the offense as a major decoy, going nearly 3 games without a touchdown, Juker was due to explode...
Against the Veterans High Warhawks, Johnson didn't just explode, he set a near career high in receptions & yards, while catching his second most TDs (4 in 2019 the career high): 9 catches for 139 yards and 3 TDs, his 7th career multi-TD outing. He nearly had 10 for 182, which would've been a definitive career topper, however the catch was called back due to a penalty elsewhere.
Oconee's QB Jacob Wright, as well as the team's coaching staff, both understand that if they are to take the next step and win the state title after consecutive years in 2nd, Juker has to be a focal point...and he needs to get the ball.
Deciding the game for Oconee, a come from behind epic to go 5-0 on the season, Johnson caught 7 first downs, posted 5 receptions of 19+ yards, and eight gains over 9+, settling matters for Oconee's 36-15 victory over Veterans High.

SHOUTOUTS: LET'S GEAUX JUKER!!!
MaxPreps.com is claiming Juker only caught 9 passes for 139 yards and 3 TDs....I think they're missing a catch. There were 11 catches on the highlight reel, with 1 repeated according to Brad and confirmed by me seeing the same play on that footage above. The footage is complete as Bull sent it to me. I believe 10 catches for 182 is correct but it IS interesting that Maxpreps have Juker only at 9 catches.
They also got Mason Taylor's 12 catches for 160+ yards incorrect earlier. They had Oconee losing 63-3 at halftime of this game at one point, too.
So, we'll see but I believe when you watch the above footage there's 10 grabs there.
