LSU Odyssey News Desk Alert:

LSUODYSSEY.COM is reporting current Northwestern St Coach Jake Olsen will be joining the LSU staff as a defensive analyst, working alongside Blake Baker & Alec Osbourne with the linebackers.

Olsen served as the Demons’ outside linebackers coach throughout 2017 before he took on the safeties coach & recruiting coordinator titles entering 2018.

The year after, Jake returned to coach the outside linebackers before taking on another role in 2020, leading Northwestern State’s safeties in addition to new special teams coordinator duties.

Olsen had great success in his variety of roles: when coaching the safeties, he helped Hayden Bourgeois earn Sophomore All-American honors from HERO Sports (claiming 1st-team All-Southland Conference honors in addition).

Before coming to Northwestern State, Olsen spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at University of Louisiana-Monroe following stops at Nicholls State, Southwest Oklahoma State, as well as his alma mater, Valley City State.

Our sources are confirming Jake Olsen is the man.
