After tossing (unofficially) 2,364 yards and 26 TDs while fighting off a fractured fibula as well as midseason doubts about his return, the #1 high school QB in America has returned with a vengeance, throwing 6 touchdown passes over STM's first two playoff games alongside 494 yards in little over 4 total quarters of action.
Leading an offense that dropped 50+ points in 4 of their last 5 contests, Walker is poised to guide legendary Coach Jim Hightower's Cougars back to the title game for a third year in a row, his second as a starter.
Of course you can always count on LSU commit Walker Howard to be laser focused, ready for any challenge ahead, however he's not alone:
STM's vast array of talent includes RB dual threat Charlie Peyton and Hutch Swilley, both racking up nearly 400 yards combined last week, plus a group of proven wideouts headlined by Hayes Moncla & Christian Mcnees.
Simultaneously, STM's under fire defense responded, shutting down offenses over the past few games, allowing Howard's command to assert early, so far unassailable first half leads.
As an entire squad, St Thomas More fought through adversity with a gallant championship mentality, now watching the pain of their labors bear fruitful rewards.
Over the past 5 games, even before Walker Howard returned from injury, STM began peaking at the right time, proving they can win on the ground as much as Shane Saivoe and Lance Strother's crew know Walker & co will dominate through the air.
Hightower also has a strong second unit offense, already battle tested if called upon...
....the riches are enormous....and I would be saying my prayers every ten minutes if I were going up against 'em.
