HERE WE GEAUX....

THE FIRST LOOKS AT LSU'S FIRST WEEKEND OF OFFICIAL VISITORS....& THE FUN HAS JUST BEGUN:

JACOBY MATHEWS & LATERRANCE WELCH

Meeting up on campus, safety Jacoby Mathews and cornerback LaTerrance Welch had a blast at LSUHQ. The Bootleggers teammates and now future Tigers garbed up in purple & gold, with LaTerrance "taking Jacoby downtown" in a hilarious photo above.

Mathews, an elite five star safety powerhouse with a teddy bear heart of gold, will be a key member of the 2022 class's en masse hang out this weekend, not to mention the Ponchatoula Prime Time should become a future DBU dynamo, such are his versatile footballing instincts and championship nature.

Baton Rouge is going to be hoppin'.

JORDAN ALLEN

Sadly, but understandably, Sage Ryan's Lafayette Christian Academy teammate Jordan Allen is currently visiting Miami this weekend and didn't include LSU in his top 6....still, he really wants to be a Tiger, evidenced by his dawning of the purple & gold as part of a visit during the week.

However, there are still no offers on tap for Jordan Allen from Corey Raymond...

Why?

Surely a reason was given during Allen's visit to campus.

This has to be more strategic than anything against Allen's talents or ability to play for LSU: Raymond's reluctance to offer the corner has to be out of a caution for messing with their overall 25 scholarship number.

Allen won't want to be a backup plan and it looks like he's enjoying the University of Miami already, with the Hurricane's DBs Coach Travaris Robinson prioritizing the Louisiana-bred corner.

If LSU really want Jordan Allen, they may have to offer him this weekend or they may just lose him for good.

BRYCE ANDERSON

Another highly sought after safety is West Brook's Bryce Anderson, a player Defensive Coordinator Daronte Jones has keyed on as a major target for his 2022 safeties room.

The #3 ranked safety in America (according to the Geaux 247 composite) visited LSU's campus, and the staff made a big impression on the Texas native, enjoying the idea of playing amongst such a distinguished group of defensive backs, let alone a reverence for DBU's history.

Bryce is playing it close to the vest leading up to his July 4th commitment date, but LSU is firmly in play as one of his favorite schools....we'll see what Bryce chooses on the 4th.

SHEMAR STEWART

One of the best players in the entire 2022 class is on campus for the entire weekend! Getting face time alongside Andre Carter, hanging out with his coach while wearing the purple and gold, checking out Death Valley's historic views....this looks to be a weekend where the best DL in the country will choose LSU for the third straight recruiting cycle (B.J Ojulari, Maason Smith), although I'd feel better if his family made the trip.

Andre Anthony will lead Shemar Stewart around town for the weekend as Stewart's host.

KELVIN BANKS & KAM DEWBERRY

The two Humble, Texas natives traveled to Louisiana State's campus and hung out together as they met up with coaches, support staff and players.

These two offensive line heavyweights were also given the rare chance to wear the home white jerseys, usually only reserved for Tigers on roster.

It was a magical moment as the two prepare for an intense weekend on campus, soon to be joined by a wide variety of their 2022 peers, all coming into town for a Friday night of wild OL revelations. OL Julian Armella from St. Thomas Acquinas will also be joining the crew this weekend, hosted by his former Acquinas teammates Marcus Dumervil and Marlon Martinez....it's geauxing to be an OL feeding frenzy on campus....

Will all this action make an impression that will last? Will Ed Ingram, Banks' player host, prove what kind of legacy can be left at LSU by an OL from Texas?

I believe so with Banks especially.

At least one of these two young men will be wearing purple & gold, I can tell you that much.

WILL CAMPBELL

Will Campbell enjoyed his Thursday visit, hanging out with Coach Ed Orgeron and OL Analyst Mark Hutson, obviously jazzed about the hiring of Arkansas' Brad Davis.

There's a reason none of these OL are worried about James Cregg's ouster...they understand this has been in the works and now.....LSU has their man....an OL Coach many of these young men have already connected with on a personal level.

It was a beautiful site witnessing the Tigers' cornerstone offensive line pillar finally rock the purple & gold in the flesh.

LET'S GEAUX, WILL!!

DAMARI ALSTON

A soon to be classic moment:

Another Woodward Academy prospect, running back Damari Alston, loves the vibe around Orgeron's LSU (Arden Key, Zavier Carter coming from the Atlanta-area high school, too) filming a video where Coach O looks into the camera and lets out a "GEAUX TIGERS!" while Alston laughs hysterically, obviously digging the moment.

Coach O is back in his element....and it's going to lead to a historic class.

Though Kevin Faulk offered Alston, you have to feel local running backs Tre'vonte Citizen and Le'veon Moss have the upper hand on sealing those 2 spots; but if you listen to Coach Orgeron lately about the running back position, LSU may just take all three if Alston commits.
