- In audio released today, https://1045espn.com/audio-scott-representative-attempts-to-extort-lsu/ New Orleans-area AAU basketball coach Cleavon Williams, who was authorized to represent Gloria Scott, talked to LSU's Verge Ausberry & Miriam Segar, demanding money if LSU didn't suspend Derrius Guice for the 2017 Citrus Bowl.

SEGAR: What kinda compensation are we talking about?

WILLIAMS: I don't, I don't have a magic number right in front of me....but at the end of the day, it all depends on the value that that that that Derrius has (playing) in the Citrus Bowl.

SEGAR: No. How much? How much? Well you'd have to have talked to her about it if you're representing her interests, how much?

WILLIAMS: Yeah...I mean, I mean....you got...what my interest is in Derrius not playing the Citrus Bowl, ma'am. Then we go from there...

SEGAR: I mean you're asking for it, we're not offering anything, what are you asking for?

(long silence from Williams) You don't have a number?

WILLIAMS: Not right in front of me, no ma'am.

SEGAR: So okay....

WILLIAMS: Once again...

SEGAR: I'm gonna tell you this point, LSU....

WILLIAMS: Has no interest...

SEGAR: I think we'd like to know...

VERGE: The number...

SEGAR: The number that you're talking about....we're interested in knowing what that should be, and if you're talking to Miss Gloria about this...cause she's never said a word to me about pay me to play...in fact, she's only said she doesn't want him to play. So, it's confusing to me that you're asking for this but I've talked to her twice and she's never said a word to me...

(then later on...)

SEGAR: It almost seems like...blackmail.

WILLIAMS: It's not blackmail, how ya' doin ma'am? It's not....it's straight forward....you heard me straight forward you and whoever else is on the phone, you heard me straight forward, it is what it is....

(later on...)

SEGAR: I think what you said was if LSU wants to protect Derrius and LSU wants him to play, protect his character, that you expect LSU to provide monetary compensation to Mrs. Scott?

WILLIAMS: Yes ma'am....If that is a concern to you guys.

SEGAR: What's confusing to me isbecause she's never said anything about monetary compensation to me. She just said she doesn't want him to play in the bowl game or she would go to the media....You're saying... If he doesn't play in the bowl game then you don't care about the monetary compensation. But if he does play in the bowl game, then you want monetary compensation....

WILLIAMS: If you guys value him on the field playing in the Citrus Bowl, then yeah.

SEGAR: If he doesn't play, then you don't care about the money?

WILLIAMS: Yep.

At the end of the conversation, Williams repeatedly said "I will check back in with Miss Gloria" to talk to her about the "respectful call he got from Miss Miriam and Mr. Verge".....

The next thing that occurred, Miriam Segar received multiple texts asking for $100,000 if Guice wasn't suspended:

LSU also released 2017 voicemails from Gloria Scott, in which the alleged victim dismissed any assertions that she was "in this for money":

"Ms. Sharon said, 'Ms. Gloria is looking for money.' Ms. Gloria is looking for her to get pleased for the fact that I was disrespected so much by him, so I'm going to make a charge on him with the police department, and you all will see him on the news."

WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?

There is so much going on here...multiple sides / participants who are lying...

This has become a mess, however these new extortion claims (with necessary evidence to back it up), represents a massive narrative sea change & a rarity for this case:

Since the allegations first came out through USA Today, LSU have been hammered from all sides with very little in their defense.....and, for only the third time in this entire debacle, there has been concrete evidence to support a claim.

Now after posting these recordings (after sitting on them for 4 years), Louisiana State University have finally swung back in their own defense, wanting to set the record straight concerning the Gloria Scott situation.

When Gloria Scott first came out publicly, her testimony was the one which really cooked up the public pressure against Coach Orgeron to a fever pitch.

Calls for resignation, his firing & more were bandied about, a subpoena for his testimony before the Senate Committee was sent....it seemed like everything was coming down on the championship-winning coach.

But something didn't sit right with me....

I watched every second of every available witness or victim testimony and I had never felt such dismay as I did when watching Gloria Scott's words before the Senate Committee.

She shook me to the core with her details about Guice's disgusting acts.....but something extremely key and important caught my eye.

When asked if she'd made recordings during the phone calls between herself and Orgeron, Miss Scott said "yes"....

When asked where those recordings were, Miss Scott indicated the "phone was destroyed when I dropped it in a pot of red beans".

While the entire Senate Committee on Women & Children laughed, whooped it up, said how they've "been there before" etc, I was disturbed once again....and for once in this case, it wasn't caused by a deplorable act by LSU:

How could a panel so willingly believe anything & everything from one person after the age old "Dog ate my homework" excuse?

Those recordings would've been saved countless times, backed up even, sent to multiple email addresses including lawyers whom she was attempting to hire (and who wouldn't take her case intriguingly).

If those recordings actually exist, there is at least one copy somewhere....

This isn't 2007....this was 2017....

As for the timing of LSU's recordings release?

To me, the reluctance of LSU to post these recordings proves to me one clear thing:

While they may have went well out of their way to protect abuser Derrius Guice, they also went way out of their way to protect Gloria Scott, too:

LSU knew the release of these recordings would see an immediate attack on her credibility as a victim, mostly by the same frothing mouths and happy jaws that went after Coach Orgeron.

It says a lot that LSU didn't release this when Miss Scott testified....

Why wait????

Why wait and endure an entire weekend-long destruction of Orgeron & LSU????

All while the media goes after their head coach repeatedly, with no mentions of how Orgeron actually specifically handled Title IX cases which crossed his desk:

Tae Provens, Ed Ingram, Ray Parker or Peter Parrish....

He was continuously named as the "unnamed Coach she spoke to" despite never being directly named in any official record or report....

Only when backed into a corner following months and months of intensive scrutiny or world-wide disgust did LSU finally release these recordings......

Another thing, perhaps Miriam Segar and Verge Ausberry deserve some respect for how they took over that phone call and made sure to catch him in his act of extortion red handed....does this clear them of their prior mishandling?

HELL NO.

Does this all clear LSU from everything they mishandled before? HELL NO.

But it definitely makes the public trust LSU a HELL OF A LOT MORE.

Just like I wrote last time about the Title IX issues, we cannot make broad, sweeping judgements and justifications in regards to what is going on here...

And I'm hearing the juiciest recordings aren't even out yet....
