TREY'DEZ GREEN
2024 FRESHMAN STATS
101 YARDS
19 TARGETS
13 CATCHES
4 TDs (all inside RZ)
7.8 PER CATCH
Is hybrid tight end Trey'Dez Green about to become the next offensive superstar at LSU???
Catching 4 touchdowns inside the red zone from 4 total targets as a true freshman backup to Mason Taylor (solving a notable close yardage issue the Tigers had considerable problems with for most of last year), Green showcased his towering length and physically imposing dominance on all 4 TD grabs, hauling in big plays against Nicholls, Ole Miss, and capping the year off in style, 53 yards, 6 catches (7 targets), and 2 TDs vs Baylor.

Could the 6'7 241 pound powerhouse become the first Tiger to take full advantage of the hybrid tight end role within LSU's recent offensive dynamism??
While Nussmeier has plenty of receiving targets to feed out of Cortez Hankton's stocked, locked and loaded WRU room, Trey'Dez Green's aerial imperialism will have room to operate in theory, given the headline catching attention-grabbers out wide.
In this light, on an offense featuring one of the country's best running backs (Caden Durham), a deep threat home run hitter like Hilton, speedster YAC machines Barion Brown, Aaron Anderson, Zavion Thomas, stout all-arounders Kyle Parker, Nic Anderson, and Destyn Hill, there will be plenty of defensive attention geared towards stopping LSU's receiving cavalry....leaving space for tight ends and backs to make plays in the passing game.

Green has proven to be nearly unguardable if the pass is accurate, he can make slaloming, slow-burning plays after the catch, as well, finding a lethal chemistry with QB Garrett Nussmeier.
Elevating his all around game up front during Spring camp within an assortment of 12 personnel schemes, alongside fellow (more traditional) tight end Bauer Sharp, the Louisiana native excites his coaching staff and affords a litany of options due to his versatility.
Due to his size, Green could fit with his hand in the dirt, at the slot position for some sublime mismatches, motioned out wide, or even into the backfield as an auxiliary fullback...it's all about giving the opponent different angles and formations to deal with.....trying to tackle, guard or contend with Trey'Dez Green in the air is a quest for defenders, already, but with a little creativity, Joe Sloan can make him unstoppable.

He should be a matchup nightmare, especially in the red zone.
