Under the radar...

Possibly overlooked...

Mostly unknown to the outside world...

Ahh....the life of being the third son.

Zach Weeks is of course the youngest brother of West & Whit Weeks, but he is absolutely not languishing in their shadow, lingering in the background....Zach's dynamic skill set & potent playmaking indicate he might even be more talented than either one of his elder brothers.

Fresh off his solid true freshman campaign, Zach is a colossal athletic Adonis, defensive menace, and lengthy presence (standing 6'3), capable of wreaking havoc as a pass rusher (his high quality, steambreathing 4th quarter cameo performance vs Florida last year), run stuffer, while possessing the length to be more than adept in coverage.

Already in Spring camp, Zach is featuring at the star position, working closely under the guidance and development of Blake Baker, the man who harnessed the best full season outings by each of his older brothers.

At the star, Zach Weeks is facing tough competition, and a potential rotating cast of characters as Coach Baker tries to figure out the right combination of player or players for this key position within his 4-2-5 defense.

Regardless, the youngest Weeks Brother needs reps this campaign, as he is a speedy, venomous, turbulent footballing character of the highest order....mixing both the hardnosed, finesse savagery of Whit alongside West's more cultured, cerebral, rough-house approach, there is one common denominator:

For the most part, Zach Weeks should be in a position where he can attack the backfield....the violent way in which the former 4 star prospect clamped down on then-Florida QB DJ Lagway with 3 key pressures during a close 4th quarter, each arriving on critical downs, Weeks clearly has the potential to be a dominant pass rushing authority.

However, his Oconee High film also reveals solid to strong coverage against a variety of routes and pass-catching targets, mirroring receivers and tight ends alike thanks to a lengthy wingspan.

Despite his clear physical advantages, right now, it's impossible to say exactly how well he can play in coverage at the collegiate level...although it is a big component of playing the star position.

Could Weeks sensationally climb up to the starting star spot alongside older brother Whit???
Or will Zach continue his rise in the rotation as a 3rd/4th down blitzing backfield kingpin???
Either way, I am excited to witness the growth and development of an empirical talent, the son who will write the final chapter of the epic Weeks Family Legend at LSU...
