DEFENSIVE BRIGHT SPOTS:

"Damone Clark and Micah Baskerville are playing their best ball...."

"Bright spot is Saivion Jones got a couple reps out there and looked very, very good. I was excited to see him..."

OFFENSE:

"On offense, same old stuff, gotta tell the truth. I watched the film this morning with the coaches: we gotta put our players in better positions. We gotta call better plays, we gotta execute, it's the same old story. I'm not gonna back off of it. Some of our players were frustrated after the game and I don't blame 'em. I mean they fighting...."

"Bright spots on offense: Ty Davis-Price is running the ball well and so is Jack Bech, catching that football..."

ULM:

"Glad the game's at 8 o'clock, the fans can get ready, and I can watch my son play his last game at McNeese...so I'm very thankful to God for that, to go see that and come back and coach our team."

ON JAKE PEETZ LEAVING PRACTICE:

"This is the first time I've heard about that, it didn't happen on my watch. It may have been after practice or something like that. If it is, Jacques, it's unacceptable. But I don't know if that happened, I'll find out."

ON QBs:

"I like Garrett, I think he's a good player, I like Max, I don't feel like Garrett beat Max out. I don't think Max deserves to be benched, thought I gave him a chance to beat him out, although I think he's a very good player.

That play he made (Garrett) that touchdown play he made was a phenomenal play. But we were still -3 in the turnover margin and scored 7 points and Max is still our starter. It's gonna be up to Garrett and his father if they wanna red shirt, if they wanna play in a backup role, then perhaps again, if he plays better, we keep him again. But you know, if I were him, I'd red shirt. With only two games left, that's not my decision.

Some guys wrote some stuff that I really don't like: I'm giving him the option to red shirt, and that's what I do for everybody. Now who plays in this football game, I decide that."

HOW MAX HANDLED THE BENCHING:

"Like a champ....(Orgeron looks angry at the question, defensive of Max).....he didn't say a word....he said 'yes sir, got it'.....and nothing else has been said."

ON JAKE PEETZ / OFFENSIVE STAFF:

"The One thing I did was trust Joe Brady. I wanted his offense, I wanted somebody who could run it...I knew there'd be a learning curve, but that's why I also hired D.J. DJ's a....he's in charge of the 3rd down, there's been a big learning curve.

Was it a mistake to hire them or not? I won't say it was a mistake. But they need to do a better job and they know that. I think they're outstanding men. It's not like they're not working, they're always there. I just think their experience level may not have been what I needed for this job."

ON KAYSHON BOUTTE'S IMPORTANCE:

"We have not found a legitimate replacement, except for Jack Bech. If you look at who's our most dominant receiver right now, that's Jack Bech. Kayshon is a very special player, but besides Jack Bech, we haven't found anyone to take that place..."
