Tossing just under 300 yards and connecting with his reunited LSU friends, Bengals' QB Joe Burrow returned alongside 2019 teammate WR Ja'Marr Chase, and together the pair were instrumental in Joe's first win after nearly 10 months ...

Week 1 was also Ja'Marr's first time on a football field, taking hits and making catches during a live football game since he walked off the Superdome field with Joe, holding a title game record of 221 yards and 2 TDs back on 1/13/2020...

Taking on fellow 2019 Tigers WR Justin Jefferson & punter Zach Von Rosenberg's Vikings, the game had much significance for each team, as Burrow's Bengals may as well be the 2019 Tigers of the NorthernMidWest, with Thad Moss and Tyler Shelvin joining their ranks, all key role players for the historic 2019 LSU Tigers' National Championship team.

Well, it was just like 2019 all over again....as if we were in the Superdome watching Burrow's Tigers torch Clemson on the opening bomb to Chase vs current Falcon AJ Terrell, Offensive Coordinator Brian Callahan dialed up the same exact play....and...oh my, the same exact results occurred!

50 Yards down the field, a slight studder and go route, a simple burst of speed, the DB left in the dust...completely bamboozled and left sprawling after Ja'Marr into the end zone....and just like that, the entire AFC North was put on notice.

Burrow and Chase are geauxing to be obvious gold together, that's no joke, we've been saying that since before Ja'Marr was even a draft possibility for the Bengals...when all the analysts were saying "no way! O-Line! O-Line!"

You can see the Cincy OL is still struggling, allowing a ridiculous 5 sacks on Joe, but the short passing game to Chase & Higgins or the help of RB Joe Mixon on the ground (hitting over 100+ rushing yards today for Burrow's offense), these 2021 Bengals appear to be a far more evolved squad than the group that made up Joe's 2020 rookie campaign.

While losing veteran WR A.J Green's 3rd down value (he had plenty last year), Cincy also lost a former Pro Bowler who wasn't necessarily a locker room guy...a "star" who found himself at a place where he wasn't exactly happy to be, and traded him for the virtuosic capabilities of Ja'Marr Chase, a receiver with whom Joe has already established and forged a telekinetic relationship.

The results are spellbinding football at its finest for fans of offensive fireworks and quarterbacking showmanship, dynamic receiving brilliance at its best, and for every LSU Tigers fan, each Sunday is an all-around former Tigers love affair when watching Burrow's Bengals.

After the game, Joe was still defiant; not taking kindly to the criticism which came his teammate's way this off-season (critics saying Chase had a "drop problem"), Burrow sat down at the podium right after Chase and immediately began by mocking the press before him:

"I thought he had a problem with drops..." Wiping his hair and looking as if he were about to yawn....it was another ultimate swag moment from the Swagmaster Fantastic himself.

This is exactly why I wanted the Bengals to draft Ja'Marr Chase....

Taken to a whole new dimension on the NFL stage, the high octane ambition of the Burrow / Chase relationship is a shot at history this franchise had to take.....and I'm glad they did....however, as long as Joe keeps getting hit 10+ times a game, sacked more than 3x per outing, it is a gamble that I understand the ramifications and consequences of.....but it appears it was a gamble Joe felt was worth taking....and so now here we are......and I don't think these Bengals will be going anywhere for quite some time....

As former 2019 LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady said that off-season:

"Get your popcorn, ready...."
