10.1 PER CATCH
Running a 4.65 40 yard dash & ripping 28 lifts from the bench press, Mason Taylor ended his Pro Day like his LSU career....in dominant style.
Finishing his career as LSU's all time greatest tight end in school history in almost every single category (2007 National Champion Richard Dickson still tops Taylor regarding touchdowns), the NFL Hall of Fame bloodliner enjoyed a stellar career as a Tiger, becoming a major cog within Heisman-winner Jayden Daniels' 2022-2023 offensive juggernaut, while also topping career numbers this past fall for QB Garrett Nussmeier.
Taylor is adaptable, he's stout, he has speed for a non-hybrid, more traditionally oriented tight end at his size, Mason possesses the kind of gritty physicality for rough and tumble blocking at the next level, he's quite versatile for a traditional tight end, owns a pair of trusty hands, and picking a number out of 10, his blocking is reliable enough I would rate it as an 8.6.
Plus, when pressure is at its apex, Taylor performs at his best.
A total first down merchant & big play target, the Sunshine State-native was always open when QB Garrett Nussmeier needed him to be, sealing his legacy as the greatest tight end in LSU history throughout this past fall, contributing monumental plays like his 4th and 3rd down "do or die" grabs during the final quarter vs Ole Miss, proving yet again when the pressure is at its highest, his Hall of Fame blood takes over.
Something tells me we will be watching him on Sundays for a long time.
