LSU Odyssey is one of the primary sources of information for everything concerning Tackett Curtis' recruitment and career thus far, and here we are yet again delivering something ahead of the curve for all of you to dig into.

While we've all known LSU's Orgeron-era pursuit of Curtis wasn't up to snuff, our initial reporting about Brian Polian and Joe Sloan recruiting Tackett raised a lot of spirits amongst the LSU fanbase.

Since our last reporting on Curtis, things nearly crashed & burned....for good:

First, LSU were disappointed that Tackett "wouldn't visit campus in March"....specifically this current March 4-7th weekend. After that, there was a miscommunication, followed by a few missed calls between Curtis and LSU, which was backed by a final statement from Tackett's family: "either give up or start building a relationship".

LSU responded in the correct fashion, finally having a proper linebackers coach recruiting Tackett when LSU Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers Coach Matt House joined the fray alongside Coach Joe Sloan, the pairing now found to be strong together (House bringing in the NFL / Super Bowl pedigree, then adding his deep knowledge of the linebacker position and how to best develop Tackett, combined with Joe Sloan's close ties to Tackett's Uncle, championship-winning Many High Head Coach Jess Curtis).

There is an upcoming April visit in Baton Rouge on the cards for Tackett, though it isn't 100% sealed, the visit is looking very likely at this point.

"We haven't confirmed April yet, still seeing how it goes, hope they keep trying to develop (a) relationship," I was told by a source close to the situation.

Yes.......there was a little bit of drama.....but LSU recognized there were two choices here: either shut down their pursuit of Curtis, or geaux all in......finally, they chose to geaux all in...for real this time.

At least the Tigers now have a shot for LSU Odyssey's #1 overall ranked defender of 2023.....a player so imposing, so intimidating, he may actually scare those coaches tasked with recruiting him.
