THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN (PART II): LSU'S 2022 WEEKEND VISITS CONTINUE: OL/DL CAMP & MORE

What an incredible few days of whirlwind action that is far from over...

Here is some of the best action:

MAASON SMITH alongside QUENCY WIGGINS

This weekend, Quency lit up the LSU OL/DL camp, impressing DE Andre Anthony, Coach Ed Orgeron among many others, Coach O was hyped up, screaming in ecstasy when Quency barreled around Lucas Taylor, dipped inside using his right shoulder and bent his body around the OL and slapping the bag.

Coach Orgeron sounded like he had a stroke during the play, losing his mind after watching Wiggins showcase his supernatural agility.

How can someone nearly 6 foot 8 move that quick?

Wiggins and Will Campbell also enjoyed some repeated battling during drills, both getting the best of each other, but Quency looks to be an absolute freak of nature LSU have to seal.

His size is truly incredible, just look at him standing next to Maason Smith....wowza....

Could I see Quency Wiggins committing to the LSU Tigers soon after this visit?

Based on the fact he knows many current Tigers, as well as recent Tigers commits / targets from Damone Clark, Jaquelin Roy and Maason Smith among others, the attention and love he's received from Tigers Nation, the vision Andre Carter has for his development, alongside the fact every single member of our coaching staff is recruiting him, I love LSU's chances at grabbing a commitment from Quency.

LUCAS TAYLOR

Lucas Taylor is not only a Bama defector, he's also shown he can adjust his body to the intense demands of SEC football, shedding some excess weight as of late.

He arrived lean and mean for the OL/DL camp and enjoyed some intense battles vs Quency Wiggins among others.

Lucas is a solid LSU commit with a bright future: the Tigers have a major lack of talented guards, let alone overall guard depth....Taylor will likely grab a 4th star after his camp performance (despite losing a few one on ones). He showed major heart and never quit on any rep.

JULIAN ARMELLA

A player with some history for Coach Orgeron.

Ed recruited his father Enzo during his time at Miami, however Enzo ended up choosing Florida State, a rising Bobby Bowden-led powerhouse at the time, instead.

Orgeron won't forget that defeat on the recruiting trail, no matter how long ago, and he'll go full bore here to make sure he rights those wrongs, even as many are chomping at the bit to grab Julian's signature.

But after this weekend, where Armella met with some other OL stalwarts of his class, I feel an Armella commitment is impending.

My prediction is he'll end up a Tiger sooner rather than later after his full-on experience at LSU this weekend.

DAMARI ALSTON

Is he the top running back on Kevin Faulk's list for 2022?

Damari Alston doesn't seem to be generating too much high profile buzz for his versatile play out of the backfield, although LSU are already making their push.

With Citizen, Moss and Alston all receiving LSU offers, which 2 will the Tigers take?

Or is Orgeron prepared to grab a 3rd, alongside another potential signed athlete, Kendrick Law, who has some major buzz building for a future at running back...

3 backs seems a bit too many, and while I prefer the local boys, Alston is an absorbing talent who should only see his stalk rise this fall.

OL/DL CAMP

Coach O was intense throughout the camp, leading the charge by saying "big boys get on the bus first at LSU....it starts with us!" Came his war cry above the awestruck hundred or more recruits.

He chided a young man on poor technique and ill discipline, "that causes selfish penalties! Selfish penalties cost the team! I don't wanna see that bullshit, you understand?!"

Alongside Coach O were his player-helpers, Andre Anthony, Ed Ingram, Austin Deculus, Offensive Coordinator Jake Peetz ran many of the drills, and high above on the overlook stood LSU's new coach OL Impresario Brad Davis.

At one time Peetz was seen discussing the camp with Davis, decked out in LSU gear and looking down with a mighty smile.

Also joining the fray in observation?

2022 LSU commits Will Campbell taking part in drills and performing like a beast in heat, while essential QB Walker Howard and soon to be 5 star TE Jake Johnson were also on stand by, relishing the opportunity to join in with their fellow 2022 recruits for the first time in person.
