In the past 24 hours, the 2026 LSU Tigers have already lost multiple pieces to their squad, including the biggest hit yet so far when stud freshman OL Carius Curne announced his intentions to enter the portal on Wednesday, following announcements (most expected) by running back Kaleb Jackson, 2023 & 2024 starting CB Ashton Stamps, QB Colin Hurley, DB/QB/RB Ju’Juan Johnson, WR & track star Jelani Watkins, WR Kylan Billiot and defensive lineman Ahmad Breaux, every name on the list consists of now former Tigers who were within their first two seasons at LSU.
Colin Hurley arrived with a ton of promise, quickly becoming one of the most beloved players by the LSU fanbase, but after 2 full seasons on the sidelines, punctuated by a horrific, near fatal car accident, Hurley is leaving LSU as a potential "what if" who never touched the field but has the ability to be great.
Carius Curne was one of LSU's better performing offensive linemen during a disastrous collective season up front, appearing in 7 games, starting his last 5 appearances as a true freshman.
He's leaving LSU after a single season of frustrating promise, while the man who recruited and coached him in 2025, Brad Davis, has now been replaced by former Kentucky O-line Coach Eric Wofford.
LSUOdyssey was told Wofford's hire played a larger role in Curne's departure than Davis' firing, and he'll now take his talents away from Baton Rouge.
Defensive tackle Ahmad Breaux is departing his home state, likely headed to Ole Miss, joining up alongside former LSU staff Frank Wilson and Austin Thomas. He was productive as a depth option, but upcoming junior Breaux likely senses increased competition vs LSU's stunning 2026 freshman D-line class, and is now heading for a cleaner shot at playing time.
As for running back Kaleb Jackson, the former Liberty Magnet powerhouse ripped off a breakout campaign in 2023 before a forced weight gain in 2024, poor offensive line play in 2024 & 2025, the rise of Caden Durham during the 2024 season, as well as his own stalled development, forced him to rethink things:
LSUOdyssey broke the news of Jackson's departure from the field, refusal to play further snaps, redshirting of 2025, and then-impending transfer back on October 14th...a story which even drew angry denials and insults our way from Jackson's mother.
Expect more names to enter over the next week as LSU's Coach Kiffin and GM Billy Glasscock continue retention evaluations and revamped NIL offers, all culminating officially over the next month...simultaneously happening as LSU adds their own new additions via the portal.
